The Nigerian Wedding Guest Outfit Inspiration

So guyz, help me praise the Lord, I finally attended a wedding ceremony after almost 9 years!! Last time I talked about wedding on this blog was when I styled an outfit for wedding guest outfit inspiration.

Now, I was an actual wedding guest, so this is the real wedding guest outfit inspiration. You won’t believe I got this dress on the day of the wedding and for less than 15k naira. Nigerian wedding guest outfit 2018

I know you must be wondering why, especially because I couldn’t have been invited last minute to my friend’s wedding. Well, let me give you a short version of how it happened.

On a faithful day in May 2017, i met up with a friend of mine who came from Lagos to Abuja. She happened to be the same person I sold my previous mirrorless camera to and she wanted me to show her more ways to make the most of the camera.

That was also the day this Ankara pants outfit photos were taken. Long story short, I stayed longer than planned after much persuasion from one of her now husband’s friends and eventually went to dinner with them at Blu cabana. The dinner turned out to be her surprise proposal.

Fast forward to February 2018 and I’m attending the wedding proper. I had hoped that I wasn’t going to work on that Saturday because the wedding was going to be in Abuja and luckily I wasn’t. It was a generally busy week for me, I didn’t have the time or energy to prepare for the wedding.

On that Saturday morning, I had to quickly go and touch up my natural hairstyle which was done a week prior to that day. If you follow me on Instagram (@modavracha), you’ll remember when I posted a picture of the natural hairstyle on my instastory. I also had to pick out a wedding gift for the couple and my wedding guest outfit that same day.

I searched for wedding guest fashion items in nearby boutiques and eventually found this green dress. The style was perfect but I was skeptical about the color because it was a new and odd color for me especially for an event. Everyone at the boutique convinced me to go with it and I did. The wedding guest outfit inspiration Nigerian wedding

Befitting shoes became an issue, i wasn’t sure i had shoes that would match the dress, I couldn’t even remember my shoes, lol. I searched for about an hour, then I gave up and decided to go home hoping one of my pairs would fit.

I started my makeup late as a result of the time I had already wasted looking for the perfect wedding guest outfit. Thank God @zeezeecruise (on Instagram) came through on the facebeat in a short period of time. Nigerian wedding guest look

My experience with zeezeecruise was amazing. At first I was a bit skeptical since I had only worked with a few makeup artists in Abuja who also happen to be popular with their works easily recognized.

I didn’t tell zeezeecruise anything about my skepticism, lol…rather I remained calm and let her do her thing. I didn’t even use a mirror for once till she was done. So glad I trusted her with my face and wasn’t disappointed.

The total time of the makeup session was roughly just over an hour which was a record for me compared to the total time I was used to from previous professional makeup sessions.

Guyz, I was so happy that everything worked out. I didn’t look anything like the stressful week I had or even the stress I passed through on the wedding day looking to be the perfect wedding guest in my wedding guest outfit. Nigerian wedding guest outfitNigerian wedding guest look

The reception was at Evelyn’s event and recreation center in Gwarimpa. Time was 3pm but I got there some minutes past 5. I met fellow blogger @village_geh, it’s a pity we didn’t a photo together.

It was indeed a great day, lovely reunion with old friends and an all round fun day. Thanks to everyone who contributed to the fun. Happy married life once again to the couple Kelvin and Edith #EDK18 Nigerian wedding guest

So, how well did I do trying to be the perfect wedding guest in my wedding guest outfit?

Thanks for stopping by as usual, till my next post.
xx
