Autumn/Winter 2013 Fashion Trends: A Guide

Aw13 trends

Hello Lovelies! How’s the weekend going? I’m getting ready for school, a new semester begins barely a week from now, it’s been a good holiday so far, though i still want more holiday 😉
So, while we are not ready to ditch summer clothes yet because summer has not ended, we can not deny the fact that summer’s end is quite near and Autumn/winter 2013 shopping period is here. Guess what’s back for A/W13 – Punk!(even better this time) also more androgynous fashion: boyish suits, oversized coats, etc..colors/prints clash, full midi skirts (to keep in touch with our femininity 😉 ) and more. You must have seen most of these trends on the runways, fashion blogs/sites and magazines.
The good thing about personal style is that one can pick up any trend even the most rebellious and give it a totally different look without looking like a clown or box of color paints.

Tartan got a punk update, this time the classic prints are looking even more beautiful. They aren’t just for the scottish. I like Tartan prints and i was even more excited when i saw them on the zara site for their autumn/winter campaign. Besides Zara, there are lots of stores with beautiful tartan items.

You can go all out and grunge tartan prints up with leather. I’m currently craving this Midi Skirt. I like how feminine skater skirts looks but i’m yet to own one, i’m still a bit skeptical about the fitting.
Wearing tartan with plain separates is a good way to tone it down. I love that they can be in different styles so there’s something for everyone: varsity jackets, harem pants, court shoes, etc. I like these..

Bomber Jacket                                                                                                       Harem Trousers

Pleated Midi Skirt                                                                                                        Green Tartan Midi

Go hell for Leather!
The leather trend/wet look has been making waves in the fashion world for sometime now. Celebrities like Rihanna, Miley Cyrus, etc have been spotted on leather outfits. While some leather pieces look tacky to me,some look really lovely and wearable. i ordered a skirt(now sold out) some weeks back from asos but i’m yet to receive it..can’t wait! Some pieces i like..

Wet Look Skater Skirt                                                                                        Leather look pencil skirt

Punk aside, colorful prints are beautiful! For eg. the popular asos wiggle dresses still selling hot.

Another A/W13 trend is The Full Midi Skirt. They might be A/W13 trend but the truth is that they can be worn anytime all year round, styled differently.

Fashion Trends change all the time, the key to a great style is being able to piece together great outfits from old and/or new trends; girlish/womanly or boyish/manly, richly-colored or pale..whatever works best for you. Remember to stay warm!

Have a lovely weekend
xx!
