African Fashion: Ankara Style Outfits (Traditional Service) Sunday 2014

Happy Sunday Lovelies, how was your weekend? Mine was a dull busy one filled with lots of school work and less resting time. Today’s service was “Traditional service” where people from different African countries displayed their native attires, food, dance and drama. This is one of those Sundays in the year that people enjoy because they get to show off their tradition in dramas, food and African fashion without looking out of place, check out photos from last year’s traditional service.
I was late *covers face* but i took some photos of some of the activities i met including some traditional and ankara outfits…enjoy!
As a foodie, it’s only natural that i start from the food 🙂

My Igbo brothers and sisters never fail to represent anywhere they go!
The Niger Deltans didn’t disappoint either..
Everyone put in their best and made the service an awesome one!
I had some issues with my initial outfit, then my last option was this peplum dress i had a seamstress make for me earlier this year in Nigeria which happened to have become slightly undersized. my only options were to force myself in, wear a non-traditional outfit or stay at home. I had to squeeze myself into the peplum dress, ironic yeah? who would think a slim person like myself would have to squeeze into a dress or anything at all.
Well, it might not be a typical Nigerian traditional outfit but i’m glad i attended the service, hope you like the photos..
I invited some friends and they came in their own versions of traditional attires.
So, what do you think of the Ankara style outfits and traditional wears?
 Till my next post..
Have a great week ahead!
