Some By Mi Snail Truecica Repair Low pH Gel Cleanser Review

Hi! Long time no read! How are you holding up during this Covid-19 pandemic? With everything going on, now might be a good time to catch up on some reading, a little distraction.

I’m not new to gel cleansers or skincare products that contain snail mucin. If you’ve read this blog long enough, you’ll remember my review of the Cosrx low Ph gel cleanser and the Cosrx all in one snail cream

Some By Mi Snail Truecica Repair Low pH Gel Cleanser Review

Some By Mi is a brand I’ve come to love a lot after using their Aha-Bha-Pha miracle toner and their snail Truecica miracle toner. It was actually after the snail toner that I decided to give the cleanser a try. Even with my love for the Cosrx snail cream, I’m so tempted to give the Some by mi Truecica cream a try.

What’s The Difference Between A Gel Cleanser and Regular Foaming Cleansers?

Gel cleansers have a thick gel consistency that provides a smaller amount of foam and a milder cleanse.

Foaming Cleansers have light and sudsy consistency meant to deep clean the skin by getting rid of excess oil and sebum.

Gel cleansers are often suggested for normal to combination skin types while foaming cleansers are often suggested to oily and acne-prone skin types.  There are also cream and milk cleansers suggested for dry skin types.

In the end, the choice of cleanser depends on your skin’s condition and other products used in a routine.

Packaging: it comes in a 100ml tube similar to the Cosrx low ph gel cleanser. The red color is attractive and gives it a luxury feel.

Ingredients: it contains 17 types of amino acids, ceramide and panthenol to strengthen the skin’s moisture barrier and Black Snail Extract to heal damaged skin. Its pH is 5.5 which means it won’t disrupt your skin’s natural barrier.

Effect: I love how smooth it makes my skin feel without stripping. I have never experienced any drying or stripping since I started using it. It gives a subtle glow to the skin and helps with texture including enlarged pores however it doesn’t prevent acne breakouts.

Price: Just like most snail mucin-containing products, it costs slightly higher than similar sized cleansers. It costs an average of $12 – $15 worldwide. If you live in Nigeria, you can buy it for 6,900 naira from my Nigerian-based online korean skincare store. *prices are correct as at the time of this post.

Availability: It’s available in most stores that stock Korean skincare products worldwide. In Nigeria, you can find it in Shop Modavracha.

You’re out here doing the Lord’s work. I wish I was into skincare as such. Maybe one day I’ll pay attention to it, but I love how you’ve inspired loads of people to pay attention to their skin.
